A strategic multi-year collaboration valued at up to $500 million has been sealed between Eutelsat Group and Intelsat, strengthening their longstanding cooperation.

This deal empowers Intelsat to broaden the integration of LEO technology into its existing GEO assets, enhancing its ability to provide unparalleled solutions to customers. Leveraging Intelsat’s extensive expertise, particularly in the development of the Next Generation OneWeb constellation, signifies a pivotal aspect of this partnership.

Eutelsat Group has announced the signing of a substantial multi-year agreement with Intelsat to collaborate on its OneWeb Low Earth Orbit Constellation.

Scheduled to commence in mid-2024, the agreement spans seven years and is valued at up to $500 million, with an initial commitment of $250 million, inclusive of the $45 million deal inked in March 2023, and an option for an additional $250 million by the contract’s end.

This collaboration will enable Intelsat to merge OneWeb’s LEO Network with its GEO and terrestrial networks, facilitating comprehensive customer solutions across networks, government, and mobility sectors.

Central to this partnership are innovation, technological advancement, and the incorporation of Intelsat’s insights into the development of the Next Generation OneWeb constellation, underscoring its significance as a major contributor.

Such collaboration is poised to further elevate the capabilities of the OneWeb system, catering to evolving communication requirements and offering robust and reliable connectivity solutions.
